The Tarboro Edgecombe Chamber of Commerce annually presents its DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN AWARD to honor a man or woman who made a significant contribution to the Tarboro Edgecombe community through 2009. Presented at the Chamber's Annual Meeting, the award represents prestigious recognition by the community of the recipient's commitment and dedication to the advancement of the Tarboro Edgecombe area.

The Chamber is now seeking nominations for the 2010 Distinguished Citizen of the Year

To be considered for the award the nominee should be someone who enjoys a reputation for continuous Community service in areas such as civic involvement, quality of life improvement, support of business, economic development and humanitarian issues.
